Privacy Policy
Chinamax — one Chinese saying a day, for iPhone.

Chinamax does not collect your personal data. There is no account, no sign-in, no analytics, no advertising, and no tracking of any kind. The app does not send what you read, save or set to us or to anyone else.
What stays on your iPhone
Everything the app remembers is written to your device and nowhere else:
- Your favourites and your reading history.
- Your settings — theme, app icon, pinyin and breakdown switches, simplified or traditional characters, widget options.
- Your reminder schedule.
- A short support ID, shown at the bottom of Settings.
This is stored in the app's own storage on your device, including a shared container the Chinamax widget reads so it can show the same quote. Deleting the app deletes all of it. None of it is backed up to a server of ours, because there is no server of ours.
The support ID
The short code at the bottom of Settings is made on your device the first time you open the app. It is a label you can quote in an email so two support threads can be told apart. It is not linked to you, it is not sent anywhere by the app, and it does not survive reinstalling.
Reminders
If you turn reminders on, the app asks iOS for permission and schedules the notifications locally on your device. There is no push server and no message leaves your phone. You can turn them off at any time in Settings inside the app, or in iOS Settings.
Purchases
Chinamax Pro is sold through Apple's In-App Purchase. Apple handles the payment; we never see your card, your Apple Account details or your name. The app asks Apple only whether a purchase is currently active, so it knows whether to unlock Pro. Apple's own privacy policy covers what Apple does with that transaction.
Photos and sharing
When you tap Save image, the app asks for add-only access to your photo library so it can put that one image there. Add-only means the app can add a picture and cannot read, browse or see anything already in your library.
When you send a card to Instagram, TikTok, Messages or anywhere else, you are handing the image to that app. What happens to it next is governed by that company's privacy policy, not this one.
If you email us
If you write to hi@chinamax.app we will see your email address and whatever you put in the message. We keep it only for as long as it takes to answer you and to keep a record of the conversation, and we do not use it for marketing.
Children
Chinamax is suitable for general audiences and collects no personal data from anyone, including children.
Your rights
Because we hold no personal data about you, there is nothing for us to show you, correct or delete. The data on your device is yours: deleting the app removes it. If you have emailed us and want that correspondence deleted, ask and we will delete it.
Changes
If this policy changes, the new version is posted on this page with a new date at the top. Material changes will be noted in the app's release notes.
Who is responsible
Chinamax is published by Derick Tsang, an individual developer based in British Columbia, Canada, who is responsible for this policy and for the handful of things above that do involve him, namely support email.
